Finding a charity you can trust can be hard. So can finding a charity that make a difference with the money you donate. We all want to know that the money we are giving is being used for exactly what we expect it will be used for. I don’t know every detail of the charities I’ve listed below but I do either know someone that works for them or with them that has vouched for their efficient operation and sincere charity.

1. Your local church
Let’s just start here because this one, in my opinion, is the most important. While I probably don’t know someone at your local church it is still important to put in this list. We must be giving to our local church first. Giving to your church is an act of Worship to God. Many churches have a place to give online listed on their website. Check it out.

2. Give Bibles
I’ve been working with the Bible League for years because I love what they do. They distribute the Bible to the nations. For every $4 you donate a bible is delivered to a person who desires to have a Bible but cannot otherwise get one. So if you donate $100 you just gave 25 people a Bible. 3. Sponsor a Child
I’ve been involved with Compassion for a few years and currently sponsor 2 kids through their program. They take underprivileged kids in underdeveloped nations and put them through school. The children get education and opportunity along with Bible teaching. There are many charities that do the exact same thing as Compassion but they are the one I know the best. Website: Compassion

4. Give to Orphans
Little Lambs provides opportunity for orphans and abandoned children of Eurasia and China to accept Christ, grow in their faith, and become self-sufficient, contributing members of society. Little lambs runs camps, relief programs, provides housing and does outreach work with orphans. Visit their website: Little Lambs

5. Inner City Missions
There are many options here but the one I can personally vouch for is Hartford City Mission. They are serving the Lord and doing a good work in the city of Hartford Connecticut. Read more about their ministry and give online here: Hartford City Mission
