How to marry well

0

I married well, very well. Amy is a wonderful girl and she is perfect for me. I’m constantly reminded that she is a blessing from the Lord and that I don’t deserve her. I know that I did not get lucky because no one is this lucky. And I know it’s not because I made all the right moves during the dating process because I made my share of mistakes. I didn’t do everything right in searching for my wife so how did I find this wonderful woman?

Prayer. Sound so simple that you might just stop reading right now right? Well its more than just a single word. Both of our parents started praying for us while we were in the womb. And by us I mean us. They both prayed for their child and the person they would marry. As we grew older, they continued to pray that we would each marry well. God faithfully answered their faithful prayers throughout or lives.

We prayed too, not for as many years as our parents, but we prayed. We prayed a lot. There was a long stretch where I would pray for my unknown wife every day. I would pray that I would find her, and that she would have a list of Godly qualities that I thought I would need in a wife. I would pray that she would have a good day, that God would be working in her life and that She would feel his love. I could go on and on but the point is I prayed about who she was and I prayed for her life.

It’s important to know what you want in a spouse. I’m not suggesting that all you need to do is pray and wait because God wants us to take action and responsibility. So while it is important that we do our part it’s even more important that you pray for it and believe God for it. He will answer.
