He is jealous for me
I’ve been listening to the song “How He Loves” a lot lately and just wanted to share it with you. I think it’s a good reminder that God is Jealous for us. He is jealous of our hearts, souls and minds.
Exodus 34:14
for you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God
Exodus 20:5
For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God
Deuteronomy 4:24
For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
How He Loves by John Mark Mcmillan
I like Kim Walker’s singing version better. These are the lyrics of the first verse.
He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the exercise/>lose-weight-exercise/>weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

i went to ATF (aquire the fire)just a few weeks ago and our worship leader Phil Joel sang this song with us. it made me cry so hard.
Does John Mark Mcmillan have a cd with this song on it cuz i really like at and i want to show it to some of my friends who whern’t at ATF.
thanks
You can download it from itunes.
I don’t think People understand the significance of God telling us that he is jealous for us. In the original texts Jealous has a different meaning. Usually when we think of jealous, we think of being jealous of somebody or coveting. But, when God says that he is jealous for us, he is saying that he doesn’t understand why he has so much to offer us, yet we choose other things [idols] over him.
Psalms 23:1 The Lord is my shepard, I shall not want!
