Sermon Review – Christian Humanism
One of my favorite sermons of all time,Ten Shekels and a Shirt, starts off a little slow but packs a big punch. I’ve listened to this message about 10 times over the last 5 years. You can listen using the link below.
You can also read a transcript of the sermon here.
This message was preached almost 30 years ago and has never been more relevant than it is today. Paris Riedhead holds nothing back in his passionate delivery.
Message Highlights
PRAGMATISM – If it works its true. If its succeeds its good. This is not the rule that Moses, Noah or our Lord Jesus Christ lived by. According to modern day ministry standards their ministries would not have been considered successful.
HUMANISM – How much humanism do we put up with in our churches today. Our Christian culture is full of it. The idea that God exists for the happiness of man is preached and lived and God will not stand for it.
WHAT ABOUT YOU? – Why did you repent? Did you come to Jesus to get stuff, or to be happy? The right reason to give your life to God is simply because He is worthy. That is the reason why we come to The Lord and what should motivate us to witness to others.
“MAY THE LAMB THAT WAS SLAIN RECEIVE THE REWARD OF HIS SUFFERING!”

It has never been se relevant as it is today.
