How To Find A Church

1

Finding a church can be hard for anyone. We all have our expectations and requirements. For a list of Bible believing churches in your area visit the Willow Creek church directory.

Or just use Google maps to search for churches close to your home.

It’s good to start off by making a list of what you are looking for in a church. Denomination, worship style, teaching, and community are usually the areas most important to people.

Once you have the list of things that matter to you most you should take that list and match it up with the list of churches in your area.  Narrow it down the churches you want to visit and pray over that list. Pray that The Lord would help you find a church and show you which church He wants you to attend.  Then of course start visiting the churches.

I’ve probably been to over 100 different churches in my lifetime.  You never really know what a church is like until you have visited there a few times. Once just isn’t enough. You might love what the pastor had to say on your first visit but then find out that he says the same thing every week. Or you might not like the worship one week but find later that it isn’t always like that. If you find a church you like make sure you are in prayer over it and attend a couple times before deciding it’s the place for you.

Great resource that – the Church directory. Wish there was was here in South Africa :-)
The only problem is that the people you need to come and here the Life Changing message of Salvation are not really going to be praying about. More likely they will find the Church through a friend who has invited them.
But if one person uses it and gets saved then it is certainly worth it.
